Pinless is a privacy tool, so this page is deliberately plain.
What it does
- Reads the hidden data inside a photo or video (location, device, time, thumbnails) and shows it to you.
- Removes that data without re-encoding the image or video, so the pixels are identical before and after.
- Keeps only what the file needs to look right: the colour profile and its rotation.
- Re-reads the cleaned file and only offers it for saving if it verifies as clean.
What it does not do
Pinless removes hidden data, not what is visible in the picture. Faces, backgrounds, street signs and anything else you can see in a photo or video are left exactly as they are. Removing metadata makes a file more private, but it does not make you anonymous.
What it never does
- It never uploads your photos or videos. Everything is processed on your own device.
- It has no analytics, trackers, ads, third-party scripts or external fonts.
- The Windows app blocks every outgoing network request, so it cannot send anything anywhere.
- It has no accounts and stores nothing about you. The only things the web version saves on your own device are a small counter and your theme and language choice. They are never sent anywhere.
How to check for yourself
- On the web version, open your browser's developer tools, go to the Network tab, then clean a photo. You will see no requests.
- Or load the page, disconnect from the internet, and try it. It still works.
- The Windows app works with no internet connection at all.
About hosting
The web version is a static website served by Vercel. As the host, Vercel sees ordinary page requests, the same as any website, but never your photos.
